Russia's oldest and best ranked University; one of the country's main sources of innovation and interdisciplinarity; 11 Noble Prize winners worked, taught or studied at Lomonosov MSU.

MSU is rightfully considered to be the oldest Russian University. It was founded in 1755 by an outstanding scientist and encyclopedist and Russia’s first academic, Mikhal Vasilyevich Lomonosov (1711-1765). Today, there are more than 40,000 postgraduates and graduate students and about 7,000 undergraduates studying here. There are more than 6,000 professors and lecturers and roughly 5,000 researchers. The university is comprised of 40 faculties, 15 research institutes, and 750 departments. MSU also boasts its own Medical Scientific and Educational Center, the Scientific Library, 4 museums, the Botanical Garden, the Science Park, and university branches in Sevastopol, Tasnkent, Astana, Baku, Dushanbe, and Yerevan.
Moscow State University implements inter-faculty courses: a semester-long series of lectures open to students from any faculty. Conducted by leading professors and recognized specialists, these courses demonstrate the power of connecting different fields of knowledge-art and science, politics and culture. International cooperation spans the globe with participation from 130 countries. Moreover, every year Moscow State University enrolls about 4,000 international students and postgraduates from across the world. Annually about 500 students are sent on the included training to foreign universities-partners and the same number come to the Moscow State University for the included training.
The Faculty of Political Science offers an opportunity to study at a new English-taught Masters "Post-Soviet Public Policy". This programme aims to provide young political scientists and future policy-makers with a deep understanding of comparative politics and policy-making processes in the Post-Soviet space.
Through this knowledge, the programme will train the next generation of political analysts and public policy experts who will be exceptionally equipped to address the new challenges in public policy, including the processes of design, implementation and crisis management.

Our Programme trains:

  • Competitive policy experts and future diplomats with a perfect understanding of the way, in which things really work in the Former Soviet Union countries;
  • Specialists with excellent policy analysis skills, sufficient to start a career in leading companies and governmental bodies;
  • Critically-minded professionals, familiar with a broad range of political science theories and methods.

Upon graduation the alumni will be able to:

  • Apply different frameworks and think critically about complex policy issues
  • Analyze different problem solving strategies
  • Make decisions, transform ideas into action and evaluate the policy implementation results
