The Master's Degree in New Media at Aalto University in Finland is a 2-year education programme focused on design for interactive digital media. The education programme is project-oriented, combining practice with theory, hands-on with minds-on. The project modules emphasize interdisciplinary and collaborative work, while individual skills are studied in the tools and skills modules, in workshops and through tutored studio work.

Students of this master in new media can select on of three specializations in new media.

  • Game Design and Production
  • New Media Design and Production
  • Sound in New Media

The Masters in New Media allows students to improve skills they already have by contributing to group assignments. Students learn to share, communicate, and explore subjects from different perspectives through this new media education.

Suitability and application

Applicants to the Master's Degree in New Media must be proficient in English and possess an appropriate Bachelor´s degree or an equivalent qualification. For more details, request more information from Aalto University.

I couldn't agree more with "Pokia's" description about the university. Although he studies at the CS program, I must mention there's a huge similarity to the Media Lab department when it comes to thesis writing.
