Study a BA in Motion Picture Medium in South Africa

The BA in Motion Picture Medium is a full-time 3 year degree program. In this program students are encouraged to explore the Film and TV school disciplines and then specialize in their strongest area. The outcomes in the BA degree include short films, television promos or productions, stage production or music performance show depending on discipline selection.

Admission requirements

Applicants wishing to enter the BA in live performance program should meet the following requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate (matric) or National Certificate (Vocational) with exemption/admission to bachelor's degree, or equivalent OR the student may write an entrance exam at AFDA (View RPL Process). The AFDA Entrance Exam is a selection process approved by AFDA Senate for degree access. To give a candidate alternative access to degree one can sit for the entrance exam
