The Arboriculture Foundation degree course provides vocational based study for management roles in the arboriculture industry. There is work experience in both years, personal development planning is also included and you will undertake a personal research project.,
For degree level study for those who are currently studying or have already completed Level 3 qualifications such as A Levels or a National/Extended Diploma. It can be ‘topped up’ to an honours degree in applied horticulture with one further year of study.

Careers: with Local Authorities in roles such as arborist (tree surgeon) or tree officer; private arborist or consultant, contract management, botanic gardens or arboretum curator, research etc. There are also good international opportunities.
Students wishing to study Arboriculture Foundation must meet the following entry requirements:
- a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grace C or above, or a BTEC First Diploma witha minimum of 20 points;
- a minimum of 80 UCAS points (which mayinclude Key Skills at level 2 or above) including study of 2 A levelsto A2 level, or a BTEC National Diploma;
- a satisfactory reference.
