This Veterinary Nursing extended diploma course is for those already employed in a veterinary practice who want to train to become a registered veterinary nurse. As part of the course you will attend college for one day each week.
As part of your job, you will complete a nursing progress log of practical skills developed in your practice work. You will also attend college one day each week for lectures and practical training using our purpose-built veterinary nursing suite. The programme also includes functional skills in English, Maths and ICT and a First Aid qualification.
Please note that a Level 2 qualification from RCVS is no longer available, however if the college receives sufficient demand, it may consider offering the Level 2 National Certificate for Veterinary Care Assistants.
Students wishing to study the Veterinary Nursing extended diploma must meet the following entry requirements:
- evidence of previous study at GCSE level or equivalent is required,
- references and subject to interview.
