Program description
Diploma of Criminology
The Diploma of Criminology will teach students core skills to enhance their career prospects, whether that be a student fresh out of high school or someone wishing to upgrade their qualifications.
Core skills
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system and the ability to draw on knowledge and perspectives from a range of disciplines such as law, sociology, psychology and history.
- Communicating in groups, problem solving, decision making, rational and critical thinking, an understanding of ethics, morals and cultural beliefs. It will allow students to question why different societies define and respond to crime in different ways.
Graduates of the Diploma of Criminology will either be eligible to enter a Bond University undergraduate degree or a start to your career in intelligence analysis, research, or consulting in the areas of state and federal government, law enforcement or crime research.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Criminology guarantees students a place in most undergraduate degrees at Bond University, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their new program of study. Students are advised to check the degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit.
