Program description
Diploma of Sustainable Environments and Planning
The Diploma of Sustainable Environments and Planning provides a foundation for those intending to pursue a career in a variety of natural and built environment professions involved in creating sustainable environments. This Diploma will teach students core skills to enhance their career prospects, whether that be a student fresh out of school or someone wishing to upgrade their qualifications.
Students of the sustainable environment program will gain knowledge through studying the specified relevant subjects. Some core skills covered include; sustainability science, sustainability and society, urban design, communicating in groups, conflict resolution, problem solving, individual and group decision making, information management, and the use of different network technologies.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Sustainable Environments and Planning provides students a pathway to most Bond University undergraduate degrees, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their new program of study. Students are advised to check the degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit.

The majority of the world’s population now lives in urban areas, with urban management, sustainability and climate change becoming fundamental challenges for the government, private and community sectors in Australia and around the world. Professionals working within the natural and built environments must possess comprehensive knowledge and skills in the areas of economics, entrepreneurship, development, policy, science, sustainable practices and technology.
