Bachelor in Life Sciences (honors)Erasmus University College
Bachelor in Life Sciences (honors)
The strong international reputation of the Erasmus Medical Center (Erasmus MC) in biomedical research has played a crucial role in designing the life sciences bachelor program.
The life science program places a strong emphasis on medical biology, covering the basic concepts of all of the important disciplines within modern biology, including evolutionary biology, plant biology and environmental biology.
Apart from the pre-defined major courses, which guarantee an optimal preparation for entry to various master programs, there is ample opportunity for life sciences students to choose their own set of courses.
The life science major offers students an opportunity to participate in the medical track. This track prepares students for a 1-year connection program after graduation that will subsequently prime students to enter the Erasmus MC Medical Master.
The life science bachelor program explores the following subjects:
- Molecular & Cellular Biology
- Molecular & Cellular Biochemistry Lab
- Life Support
- Medical Ethics
- Human Anatomy
- Micro- & Immunobiology
- Embryology & Developmental Biology
- Cell Biology
- Decision Making
