The Master of Science in Computer Science gives you the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in various areas of computer science.
The Master of Science in Computer Science program is directed towards students with bachelor’s degrees in computer science and provides a solid preparation for those who may pursue a doctorate. As a Master of Science in Computer Science student you are encouraged to concentrate your studies in research areas of interest to faculty in the department.
Through the duration of the Master of Science in Computer Science you will select three of below core courses:
- Formal Languages and Automata Theory
- Analysis of Algorithms
- Computer Networks
- Compiler Theory and Design
- Artificial Intelligence
You will also get the chance to select elective courses and you are encouraged to concentrate in a specialization by careful selection of your electives.
The admission requirements for the Master of Science in Computer Science are:
- Applicants must have taken courses in differential and integral calculus, discrete mathematics, statistics and data structures and algorithms, as well as at least 12 semester credit hours of advanced coursework in undergraduate computer science. Admission may be granted with the stipulation that deficiencies are made up by taking the necessary extra courses. GRE scores (General Test only) are required. Students with English language deficiencies are only permitted to enroll in a restricted set of academic courses.
