Master Engineering Systems: Sustainable Energy
This Masters course deals with sustainable and renewable energy systems and how to apply these successfully to meet future energy requirements. The course has an applied technical approach, using engineering to deal with energy challenges. Students explore how energy systems can be used to work more efficiently. They look at how to optimise energy systems across multiple pathways and scales, increase reliability, reduce cost and minimise the environmental impact of our energy systems.
- Systems Modelling (15 EC)
modelling of physical systems, including white and black box modelling
- Sustainable Energy Systems (15 EC)
including sustainable energy technology and energy system integration (ESI)
- Applied Control (15 EC)
including feedback, digital and optimal control and controller implementation
- Choice module (15 EC)
either Smart Grid Power Supply or Data Analytics
- Graduation Project (30 EC)
As a sustainable energy systems engineer you will have an active role in the transition towards a sustainable energy system. You will work on the development of technology, models and smart control of sustainable systems for energy generation, storage or distribution at local, regional or (inter)national level. You may be employed by SMEs, grid operators, energy providers or governments to develop innovative energy systems or play a role in maintaining the energy balance on an (inter)national scale.
Students wishing to study the master Engineering Systems: Sustainable Energy must meet the following requirements:
- Relevant Bachelors degree with an average score of at least 70%. Your grade point average must be 2.8 or higher based on a 4.0 system.
- Sufficient knowledge of the English language (TOEFL iBT Score of 80 or higher, IELTS score of 6.0 or more, Cambridge Certificate CAE or CPE)
EU/EEA student € 2,060
Non-EU student € 8,485
Upon completion of this program, students will be awarded a Master of Science in Engineering Systems: Sustainable Energy from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
