The leading school for engineering and economics—Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) was founded in 1899. Recently SPbPU became "National Research University" — a recognized Russian and international leader in the field of higher engineering and economic education. Currently it ranks as the leading school in Russia for engineering higher education.
At present, SPbPU has 30,197 students and postgraduates, 3,056 of them are international students from 98 countries. The main departments at SPbPU are:

SPbPU provides a wide range of courses for international students with 49 different bachelor degree programs, 200 master degree programs, 90 PhD programs, and 90 doctorate programs. A number of non-degree and international educational programs are also offered.
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is happy to offer longstanding and profound international programs taught in Russian, which are very popular among students from all over the world. Students, who are willing to get either Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Russian, may take a Foundation Program. Aside from these, there are a wide range of international programs entirely delivered in English for both masters degree and for bachelors.

SPbPU constantly strives to develop as a new type research university, which integrates multidisciplinary R&D activities and advanced technologies for rising national economic competitiveness. Students of SPbPU are carrying out research projects with well-known companies such as Motorola, Microsoft, AT&T, Siemens, LG "Electronics", Apple Macintosh, and more.
