The demand for skilled nutrition practitioners is growing. With ACNT’s Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine), you may choose to enter clinical practice, work in health-related businesses, or become a nutrition educator or coach.
Nutritional medicine is based on the traditions of food as medicine and dietary planning. It combines these disciplines with scientific advances in the treatment, management and prevention of disease using food and nutrient as therapeutics.
In this course you will study human and therapeutic nutrition, food pharmacy, biochemistry, pathophysiology, the food system and public health – as well as the government policy that regulates them. You will gain an understanding of how diet and nutritional status can impact our health, and how therapeutic nutritional intervention can achieve wellbeing.
You will gain hands-on experience at the Think Wellbeing Centre under the guidance of experienced nutritionists, treating public patients. This will prepare you to confidently start practice in the community.
Year 12 or equivalent with ATAR 60. Equivalent IELTS 6.0 (Academic) with no skills band less than 5.5
