Economic relations have become more complex and generated copious amounts of data which must be processed and interpreted in order to explain the relevant facts and anticipate the course of events.The economist faces the challenge of providing responses to major challenges and offering solutions to urgent problems. The course content is designed to provide tools which can be used to both analyse economic reality and provide proposals for change and reform. Students are taught to ask questions, to gather relevant information, analyse it clearly and offer solutions, indicating the points in favour and against a particular private or public policy.Basic training in Economics is complemented with specialization from a choice of subjects depending on the student’s preferences. A group of compulsory subjects and electives will contribute to the formation of professionals in modern economic analysis. Graduates will be able to analyse the interaction of individual economic agents and how institutions and incentives impact on their performance.
