Study health aging at Groningen
The Medical Sciences Health Aging Summer Program at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands is a 4-day summer education program offered through the Medical Sciences School.
The Medical Sciences School is specially focused on clinical-scientific research aimed at improving patient care. The school targets clinical-scientific research and strives for scientific co-operation and pre- and post-graduate education on an international level.
The goals of the Medical Sciences Health Aging Summer Program are to introduce (bio)medical students to various aspects of healthy aging focused on the limitations and complications of today and to understand and deal with these problems through scientific research. This health aging program is limited to 24 students and the format is based on the intense interaction between masters and students.
Students enrolled in the Medical Sciences Health Aging Summer Program work on healthy aging-related scientific problems in small, multidisciplinary groups, applying multiple (societal, biological, and medical) approaches. Upon completion, graduates earn a certificate.
Admission requirements for the Medical Sciences Health Aging Summer Program at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands are:
- (medical) students from Groningen interested in healthy aging/ healthy aging research
- medical students interested in healthy aging/ healthy aging research from preferred partners of the Graduate School of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen
Tuition & fees
The tuition fee for the Medical Sciences Health Aging Summer Program at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands is € 225,- for students from abroad and € 50,- for students from Groningen.
