A Patient- Centred Program
The Bachelors in Medicine - Global Health at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands offers a modern multidisciplinary curriculum in which problem-based learning principles are applied in a patient-centred context.
During Groningen's 3-year Bachelors in Medicine - Global Health, students first become familiar with basic medical disciplines such as anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and neurosciences. In the second and third years, the focus is on clusters of related diseases or conditions. In the international Bachelors profile, special attention is paid to different aspects of global health, such as emerging diseases, different healthcare systems, and nutrition and health. During the Bachelors phase, all students learn Dutch to facilitate communication with patients. The follow-up MSc education programme is offered in Dutch.
