Study Energy & Environmental Sciences at Groningen
The MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands focuses on large-scale issues and tries to contribute to possible solutions to environmental problems. The education programme offers two specializations:

- Experimental studies of greenhouse gases and climate history
Groningen's 2-year MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences has a strong design-orientated, systems-approach character based in natural sciences. The MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences is connected to the Centre for Energy and Environmental Studies (IVEM) and the Centre for Isotope Research (CIO). Focusing on experimental methods, especially using advanced isotope measurements, the MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences covers the following research topics:
- The enhanced greenhouse effect
- The global carbon cycle and climate history
Upon completion of this MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences, graduates are well-prepared to launch successful careers, whether within research institutes or universities, governmental agencies, or industry.
The admission requirements for the MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics or Astronomy
- English proficiency, demonstrated by one of the following minimum test scores: TOEFL 580/237/92 or IELTS 6.5
