Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery
The single-cycle master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, named Harvey, provided in English, set up by the Department of Molecular Medicine, and coordinated by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pavia, belongs to class LM 41 single-cycle Master’s Degrees in Medicine and Surgery, in accordance with Ministerial Decree 16th March 2007.
The standard duration of the single-cycle degree course is six years.
Candidates with secondary school diploma or equivalent foreign title may be admitted to the Harvey Medicine and Surgery Course.
Candidates are required to sit a national admission test, the IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test), set up each year by the Italian Ministry of Education.
In order to promote the internationalisation process in Italian universities, the IMAT test can also be taken in official testing centres all around the world.
The test is composed of a number multiple-choice questions assessing the knowledge of topics such as: general knowledge, logical reasoning, biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. The date for the IMAT test is decided each year by the Ministry.
Tuition & fees
Tuition fees at UNIPAVIA vary based on the student’s family income and country of origin and range from 150 to 4400 Euro.
Scholarship, fees reduction and other benefits are offered to students on merit criteria and family income by Edisu, a dedicated government agency.
