The School of Advanced Science and Engineering operates around the keywords ‘materials’, ‘life’, and ‘systems’, and provides a multifaceted curriculum developed from basic academic domains through to practical, advanced interdisciplinary domains.
The bachelor program trains human resources possessing both a deep understanding of Japan and the ability to thrive internationally. Lower-year students acquire a solid grounding in each field, while upper-year students and postgraduates study the latest developments, going beyond their major fields. This combination of basic and advanced skills and knowledge with a rich variety of lab courses helps students on the path to success in global business and research.
Placing globalization as an issue of highest quality, Waseda University seeks to educates students to become citizens who can immerse themselves into intercultural societies around the world to solve various problems that exist in those local areas, and contribute not only to those areas and Japan but also to the human society as a whole.
To succeed in this endeavor, beginning in September 2010, the Waseda University School of Advanced Science and Engineering established an international program that allows students to earn degrees through courses conducted entirely in the English language, recruiting outstanding students from all over the world.
