Program description

school of engineering

The School of Fundamental Science and Engineering's cutting-edge programs integrate science and engineering in the Waseda tradition.

First-year students enter one of two sections:

  • Program A- (Mathematics, Applied Mathematics)
  • Program B- (Electronic and Photonic Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, Communications and Computer Engineering, Intermedia Art and Science). In the second year, students choose a department within their program.

Students therefore enjoy many options and learn to apply knowledge to diverse fields.

Placing globalization as an issue of highest quality, Waseda University seeks to train students to become citizens who can immerse themselves into intercultural societies around the world to solve various problems that exist in those local areas, and contribute not only to those areas and Japan but also to the human society as a whole.

To succeed in this endeavor, beginning in September 2010, the Waseda University School of Fundamental Science and Engineering established an international program that allows students to earn degrees through courses conducted entirely in the English language, recruiting outstanding students from all over the world.
